What is GMADA – Greater Mohali Area Development Authority – The infrastructure development in the Mohali is consistently growing with increasing population and consequent demand for affordable housing. The government of Punjab established GMADA (Greater Mohali Area Development Authority) under the Punjab Regional and Town Planning and Development Act, 1995. The authority was set up with the aim of ensuring optimal urban and regional planning in the Mohali region, including areas like Mohali, Banur, Zirakpur, and Dera Bassi. Since then it has played a significant role in improving the infrastructure of Mohali and near by region.
